Vitamin E

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, helping to protect the body from the effects of pollution, other toxins and free radicals. The immune and nervous system are dependent upon vitamin E to function properly. It is needed to heal injured tissues, prevent scarring and can even help prevent the formation of blood clots. It is mainly stored in the liver but excess amounts are elimated through urine, bile and faeces.

Iron and vitamin E should always be taken seperately (one in the morning, the other in the evening) as they hinder each other's absorption. In contrast, vitamin C enhances the action of vitamin E. Essential fatty acid absorption also benefits from adequate amounts of vitamin E. Natural vitamin E is better absorbed and utilised than synthetic vitamin E.
